Viper Gen2 – how to enable video reticle overlay

Did You Know Your Viper GEN2 Clip-on Already Records with a Reticle?

This is one of those features that’s already in your device – you just might not have found it yet.

The Viper GEN2 device includes a built-in Video Reticle Overlay function, which displays a reticle directly in your video recordings and photos. It’s designed for accurate documentation of your aiming point and alignment with your daytime scope — and it takes about 30 seconds to switch on.

Here’s how to do it.

How to Turn On the Video Reticle Overlay

Navigate to: MENU → MEDIA → Video Reticle → ON

Once activated, the reticle appears embedded in all video recordings and photos captured by the device. You can then customise it to match your setup:

Reticle Type  – choose from 4 different reticle styles Reticle Color  – select from black, white, red, green, or blue Reticle Alignment – align the overlay with your daytime scope reticle Zeroing – match the overlay precisely to your actual point of impact

How to Align the Reticle with Your Scope

Once the reticle overlay is active, go to MENU → MEDIA → Video Reticle → Reticle Alignment.

Use the OK button to switch between X and Y axis, and the Up/Down buttons to adjust the position until the overlay aligns with your scope’s reticle. Press Save & Exit to confirm. If no input is made within 15 seconds, the device saves automatically and exits.

Important: Reticle Overlay and Wi-Fi Streaming Cannot Run Simultaneously

⚠️ These two functions are mutually exclusive:

When Video Reticle is ON → Wi-Fi streaming disables automatically When Wi-Fi streaming is ON → Video Reticle disables automatically

This is by design. If you need live streaming to an external device, disable the reticle overlay first. If you need recorded footage with the reticle visible, make sure Wi-Fi is off.
